The Restricted Repetitive Behaviors and Interests in Autism Spectrum Disorder
Park Hyun-Ok

Abstract
The restricted repetitive behaviors and interests (RRBIs), which are one of the three core features of autism, have not received attention by researchers. Since the 2000s, a lot of researches about RRBIs are carried out depending on importance and functions of RRBIs came up. However, there is little theoretical background of RRBIs in Korea. Accordingly, the purpose of this research is to provide the theoretical background of RRBIs by literature review. For this purpose, first I examined the definition and the organization of RRBIs. Moreover, I studied previous researches about relationships between age and cognitive function with RRBIs. The results are as follows. First, since 2000s, researches about RRBIs are quantitatively increased. Nevertheless, still variety of terminology is used mixed. Thus, RRBIs are recognized as behavior assembly which includes various behavior groups. Second, components of RRBIs are classified by higher order elements and lower elements or the rest various multidimensional elements. Third, there are lots of researches about relationships with RRBIs and developmental elements like chronological age and cognitive function. Though looking at the results, researches are taking quite different consequences. Based on these researches, suggested the direction of later studies.
